Kurtis Patterson
Kurtis Patterson started off his domestic career with a bang – his century on Marsh Shield debut for New South Wales in 2011 came when he was 18 years and 206 days old, making him the youngest batsman to record a debut century in Shield history. The lanky left-hander continued making progress over the years in domestic cricket, amassing 737 runs in the 2015-16 season – making him the leading run-scorer for his state that year. In early 2019, Patterson’s earned his baggy green following centuries in both innings for the Cricket Australia XI – making his Test debut against Sri Lanka in Brisbane. In just his second Test in the same series, he scored his maiden ton, with Australia winning the series 2-0.
At the age of 18 years 206 days, Patterson became the youngest batsman to score a century in Sheffield Shield history when he smashed 157 in 2011.
