Shamilia Connell
Although she first started playing cricket in primary school, Shamilia Connell switched to track and field up until high-school - until a local coach spotted her. She made her T20I debut against New Zealand in September 2014, followed by her ODI debut two months later against Australia. Connell did not take too long to become the opening bowler of West Indies, clocking close to 80 mph and drawing comparisons to the legendary Joel Garner. She was a part of West Indies' squads for the 2016 and 2018 editions of the T20 World Cup, also recently picked for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020.
Connell was an active member of West Indies' squad which won the 2016 World Twenty20.
